Tour 134

The Aleutian Islands stretch more than 1000 miles west from mainland Alaska. These islands attracted native Aleuts more than 9,000 years ago; followed later by Russian fur traders and whalers. These maritime islands are a land of haunting beauty with mild temperatures and home to thousands of sea birds, seals, sea otters and foxes; whales migrate through annually. Tour Unalaska with a local guide and discover the fascinating cultural history of the island - the last place on earth! Your Aleutian Island base is the modern Grand Aleutian Hotel. The hotel was built only 7 years ago to service the bustling commercial fishing industry which thrives during the winter months. During the summer season, the hotel is open to tourists offering first class accommodation and dining.
