Tour 178
This premium retreat is set in the heart of western Yukon, near the Alaska border. Built on the shore of Tincup Lake and surrounded by mountains; with no other habitation, the setting could justifiably claim to be the most perfect location of any facility in the Yukon. Few lakes can compare with the quality of sport fishing. Recognized for its trophy size lake trout and arctic grayling, Tincup Lodge is the classic wilderness retreat. Privacy is ensured, the lake has no road access, a floatplane is the only way in. A maximum of eight guests will be accommodated in wooden cabins and the rooms are well appointed with full en suite private facilities. Each room is provided with a private motor boat. With the natural protection of the surrounding mountains, the lake is sheltered and the water is usually calm.
Fly fishing enthusiasts will appreciate the pleasures and challenges of Tincup Lake. Expert fishing guides are on staff and all tackle is provided. Outdoor enthusiasts will find the alpine hiking exceptional with pleasant treks above tree line and steeper climbs for the more energetic. Located a short 15 minute flight from the Alaska Highway, a visit to Tincup Lodge is the perfect addition to a self-drive itinerary. Our reservation team can book your visit and arrange for the private plane to meet you.
The lodge has a large sauna cabin situated on the lakeshore. All meals are included and catered by one of the leading chefs in the Yukon. Wine and beer are included with dinner. Hikers are provided with pocket size radios in case of emergency. Canoes and wind surfers are available for use any time. Guests may charter the floatplane for flightseeing in Kluane National Park. Here amidst the world's largest non-polar ice cap is Canada's highest peak, Mt. Logan, 5959 metres. The lodge is equipped with a first class kitchen and the chef provides informal cookery lessons. With her outstanding knowledge of both Canadian and European cooking, participants will learn the interesting blends and skills of cooking with local foods.
