Denali West Lodge is located deep in the Alaskan wilderness, 100 miles from the nearest highway and on Lake Minchumina. The lodge is well positioned to provide spectacular views of Mt. McKinley. The lifestyle of the Alaskan bush resonates with adventure, relaxation, and discovery of nature. Settle in beneath the shadow of Mt. McKinley, affectionately known here by its Athabascan name of "Denali". Your lodge hosts are year round residents of Denali West Lodge and invite you to their homestead. The lodge is built by hand and offers guests private log cabin accommodation. Guests who visit Denali West discover the true frontier lifestyle of Alaska. It's a lifestyle that's disappearing from our busy world but at Denali West it is alive and well.

Summer excursions from this first class wilderness lodge allow you to enter the habitat of animals. Living in the region are:< wolves, bears, moose, caribou and large winged raptors. Guides from the lodge take you by canoe and motor boat into this natural world. Jack Hayden is a long time Alaskan bush pilot and can also take you on a Mt. McKinley flightseeing trip in the float plane. From this location you have access to the best of Alaska's interior backcountry, alpine tundra, spectacular lakes, wild rivers, traditional native villages and even the Yukon River. With a maximum of only ten guests, Denali West provides a personal experience.

Nature and wildlife expeditions are designed for up to four people and guided by an expert naturalist. Guests plan their activities with the guide and the day is spent according to individual interests. Suggestions include: lake or river canoeing, hiking, fishing, river boating, wildlife viewing, photography and birding.
