Tour 1522

Before or after your cruise between Vancouver and Seward, tour Alaska by car.  This itinerary offers Alaska highlights and an easy driving pace to allow time to experience each area in one comprehensive package.  Destinations include Talkeetna, Denali national Park, Fairbanks, the gateway region to Wrangell-St. Elias and Anchorage.  The touring route includes two of America's designated "Scenic Byways" the Seward and Glenn Highways.  The tour itinerary operates for all cruise arrival in Seward, or cruise departures by simply reversing the route. Day 01:  Arrival Anchorage; transfer to hotel on your own. Overnight Anchorage.

Day 02:  Anchorage to Glennallen; enjoy one of Alaska's most scenic drives as you journey north on the Glenn and Richardson Highways to Glennallen area. Overnight.

Day 03:  Glennallen area to Fairbanks; follow Richardson and Alaska Highways into Alaska's great interior region. Overnight Fairbanks.

Day 04:  Fairbanks to Denali; explore Fairbanks at leisure then travel south to Denali National Park. Optional tours in Denali include river rafting and horseback riding. Overnight Denali park entrance area.

Day 05:  Denali to Talkeetna; early morning 7 hour Tundra Wildlife Tour into Denali National Park with snack lunch. Continue from Denali to the town of Talkeetna in the afternoon. Overnight Talkeetna.

Day 06:  Talkeetna to Seward; this morning drive through the Matanuska -Susitna Valley farm country and through Anchorage. Enjoy the scenic drive along Cook Inlet and then continue on to Seward. Overnight Seward.

Day 07:  Seward; full day to explore by car. Visit Exit Glacier, Alaska Sealife Center (admissions not included), or choose an optional cruise into the Kenai Fjords National Park. Return car in Seward to meet your cruise departure.
